Winby Land Yachts is a small, specialist team creating bespoke campervan conversions with the care, precision and attention to detail associated with fine cabinetmaking.
Alongside our campervan interiors, the Winby workshop designs and creates fine furniture to commission. This background shapes the way we approach every conversion: thoughtfully designed, individually handcrafted and made to provide lasting enjoyment. Our aim is to create campervans that feel warm, distinctive and beautifully resolved, without compromising on practicality, storage or everyday comfort.
Almost 40 Years of Cabinetmaking Experience
James Winby has worked as a fine cabinetmaker for almost 40 years. Together with skilled craftsman Edd Seymour and the wider workshop team, he brings extensive experience in furniture design, materials, construction and detailed finishing to every campervan conversion.
This depth of knowledge allows us to create interiors that make intelligent use of a van’s limited space while retaining the refinement and character of bespoke furniture. From fitted cabinetry and window surrounds to worktops, lighting details and hidden storage, every element is considered as part of the complete interior.
Individually Designed and Built
We do not simply install generic furniture units into a van.
Each Winby Land Yacht is individually planned and handcrafted around the vehicle, the chosen layout and the customer’s requirements.
Our signature English ash interiors are designed to feel light, warm and timeless. The natural grain gives every conversion its own individual character, while carefully considered finishes help create a calm and comfortable touring environment.
A Small and Experienced Team
Working with a small workshop means you receive a more personal service.
You can speak directly with the people responsible for designing and building your conversion. We take time to understand how you plan to travel, what you need to carry and which features are most important to you.
This close working relationship continues throughout the design and build process, helping ensure that the finished campervan reflects your individual priorities.

Our workshop is located at Rushmore Farm in Tollard Royal, Wiltshire, within the Cranborne Chase countryside.
A workshop visit gives you the opportunity to meet the team, discuss your ideas and explore the materials, finishes and craftsmanship behind a Winby Land Yacht.
Visits should be arranged in advance so that we can set aside time to discuss your project properly.
